Eons ago, a cube–like peaceful planet named Quarton, populated by shape–shifting living bricks called Tenkai, was ravaged by a war between two opposite factions: the Corekai and the Corrupted led by the ruthless warlord Vilius who desired to obtain the source of Tenkai Energy for his own purposes. However, the only ones who were strong enough to defeat him were the Tenkai Knights: Bravenwolf, Tributon, Valorn and Lydendor. Facing defeat, Vilius unleashed the mighty Tenkai Dragon, who was later defeated by the four Knights and its fragments were scattered across the planet. A mysterious virus, nicknamed Medusa, is spreading around the world, turning its victims into stone. Given the impossibility of finding an immediate cure, a corporation offers to cryo-preserve a select group of patients until they come up with a solution. Kasumi, one of the chosen ones, wakes up after being asleep for an unknown period of time and her awakening, not a bed of roses, is a bed of thorns, and happens in the midst of total chaos where monstrous creatures lie in wait all around.

 Arata-naru Sekai is a mixed-media project of Iruma Hitoma. He is not only writing the novel version, but also creating the story for the manga version, scripting the anime version, and penning the lyrics for the music.The story follows a time researcher and a group of children in a depopulated world that finds itself stuck in time.
